About the artist
Ditte Løgager Pedersen
My paintings move between the naive and the naturalistic – from playful motifs with wry smiles, expressive eyes and speech lines hinting at what is not always said out loud, to small inventions with birds, fish, angels and other creatures, and on to the entirely true-to-life paintings.
The first kind are made to spread joy and humour, a spark for the imagination, with a little twist that makes the viewer think: that was a strange idea, but I rather like it.
The naturalistic paintings grow out of the fascination of simply being able to render what I see, and they hold another kind of beauty, calm and presence.
Together they reflect my wish both to play with expression and to immerse myself in reality.
I have always drawn, and loved to draw and tell stories. In recent years, after an active working life, I have finally had the time to exhibit my work at art societies and fairs.
